Official host announced: Amsterdam Smart City
Smart Grids Europe 2010 is proudly hosted by Amsterdam Smart City. This collaboration will be showcased in the keynote session, illustrating a best practice in developing CO2 strategies and partner engagement. This project is a unique collaboration between the inhabitants of Amsterdam, businesses and governments in order to illustrate how energy can be saved now and in the future.
The project was initiated by Liander and the Amsterdam Innovation Motor and has attracted numerous partner organisations since its inception. The ultimate goal of the projects is the reduction of CO2 emissions in Amsterdam. Over a two-year period, a large number of projects in the focus areas Working, Living, Mobility and Public Space will be initiated. The first three areas are each responsible for roughly one third of the CO2 emissions in the city.
